

Frank James Dougherty, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away on January 1, 2015, surrounded by his family. He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on January 13, 1943, to Frank and Eleanor Dougherty and raised in nearby Bala Cayonwood. He served in the U.S. Army before moving to Arizona in 1972. He married his wife Marjorie in that year and happily lived and raised their family in Arizona. Frank worked for the phone company for 38 years before his retirement. He was a parishioner at St. Raphael's Roam Catholic Church, where he was an active member of the knights of columbus and the Men's Club. He was honored to serve as Grand Knight of Serra Padre Council #7114 and also as a Faithful Navigator of Fray Francisco Graces Assembly. He loved fishing, hunting, woodworking projects and spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife, Marjorie and their four children jennifer (Michael Larmoyeux), Elizabeth Grosch (Gary), John and Deborah, and grandchildren Jack, Cate, Abigail and Eamon. He is also survived by his two sisters, Janet Manes and Bernadette Jorgenson. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Harry Dougherty.
The viewing will be held at Chapel of the Chimes on Sunday January 11th from 5-7pm. 7924 N 59th Ave, Glendale, Az 85301. The funeral Mass will be at St. Raphaels Catholic Church, 5525 W. Acoma Dr. Glendale, AZ 85306 on Monday, January 12th at 11am followed by Lunch. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society and the Arizona Humane Societ.
