On the cool fall night of November 28, 2018, in his home in Peoria Arizona; Frank “Frankie” Hernandez departed his earthly body to be with our Lord and Savior. Frankie endured a long vigorous battle with cancer. He fought through every round of chemo, through every labored breath, and recently through 2 very invasive surgeries. Frankie’s strong faith in God and his never ending love for his family, gave him the peace and strength that it was okay to go on to his heavenly forever home.

Frankie was blessed with a loving and supporting family. Frank and Mary Hernandez welcomed their son to the world on the hot, summer day of June 7, 1980 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona. He attended elementary school at Alta Butler Elementary, went on to Jr. High at Isaac Middle School, and high school at Maryvale High School, where he had many great accomplishments. His charisma and natural leadership landed him the role of President of DECA, where he went on to compete nationally his senior year, representing the state of Arizona. He graduated high school in 1998. He dabbled in junior college, before he went on to Western International University. Frankie met Sylvia (Lopez) and her 2 young boys (Victor and Jose) in 2003. After a rocky start, they hit it off after his birthday weekend, and were engaged on Christmas Eve that year. Frankie graduated with his Bachelor of Science in Business with a minor in Marketing in August of 2004. As if life weren’t busy enough, Frankie and Sylvia became husband and wife on October 9, 2004 and they purchased their first home together that same month. Life would continue to stay busy, as they both went back to school while also expecting their baby girl. Maya Hernandez was born October 29, 2005. During this time, “Hernandez” was working for MCSO as a detention officer, caring for a baby girl, 2 young boys and going to school full time, where he earned his Master of Business Administration in July 2006. He continued his education to complete yet another Master’s Degree, this time in Education. He left MCSO in 2011 and started his teaching career.

Frankie had a passion for teaching and had a huuge impact on people his entire life. Whether it was an inmate, a friend, family or student; one thing is certain, Frankie treated everyone with respect. Of course he also loved to have fun with sarcasm and jokes.

Frankie is survived by his wife, Sylvia; his sons Victor Silva and Jay (Jose) Anderson, his daughter Maya; his parents Frank & Mary; his sisters Stefanie and Christina; his brother/best friend Lee Cox and his lifelong “boys” Joshua Perez and David Tang.

Frankie’s home going service will be held @ Heritage Elementary @ 11:30am on Saturday, December 8th with the repast to begin directly after service. There will be a viewing held from 10:00 am to 11:30. Pastor Charles A. Edmond will officiate the service. Champions For Christ praise and worship team will be singing a few selections.
