Freddie Hendrix May 4, 1942 – August 28, 2024 Freddie Hendrix, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and dedicated Marine, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2024. Born in Hamilton, Ohio, on May 4, 1942, Freddie was the son of Lige and Ida Hendrix. Freddie's life was marked by his commitment to his country and his deep love for his family. He proudly served in the Vietnam War as a Marine for eight years, completing two tours of duty with remarkable bravery and dedication. On July 16, 1964, Freddie married Temukisa in Yuma, Arizona, beginning a lifelong partnership filled with love and devotion. Together, they raised six children: Ellie, Eddie, Lisa, Darrick, Terry, and Jerry. Freddie was predeceased by his son Jerry, who passed away in 2022. Freddie was one of eight siblings. He was preceded in death by his brothers Herman, Trueman, Richard, and sister Sue Carol. He is survived by his twin brother Ed, and his brothers John and Ron. Freddie’s legacy lives on through his large and loving family. He leaves behind 19 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, each of whom cherished his presence and will carry forward his memory with deep affection. A memorial service will be held at Chapel of the Chimes, located at 7924 N 59th Ave, Glendale, AZ 85301, on September 9, 2024, at 6:00 PM to celebrate Freddie's life and his many contributions to those around him. Friends and family are welcome to attend and share their memories. Freddie Hendrix will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his bravery as a Marine, and his enduring spirit that touched the lives of so many. He will be deeply missed but forever cherished in the hearts of those who knew him.
