He was born on January 11, 1939 in Lexington, North Carolina to the late Garland and Margaret Paige Nance.
Gene Nance walks with God today. There are not enough words to describe the great character, loyalty, passion, and genius of this man. A master mechanic by trade, he was gifted with the ability to build and repair anything put in front of him. This quiet slow talking slow walking country boy with his deeply embedded southern roots, had passion and love for family and friends and all things country and bluegrass.
If Gene touched your life you were better for it. Highly respected and loved by all, he will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him, as the hardest working and most honorable man that one could be blessed to have ever known and loved.
Truly a gifted and unique man.
He is survived by his wife Beverly, son Steven, daughter Sharon, brother Ronnie, six grandchildren Cory, Christopher, Andrew, Nickolas, Victoria & Jamie and five great grandchildren Aden, Ashlynn, Noah, Levi & Michael.
In addition to his parents Gene was preceded in death by his brother Bruce, first wife Nancy and son Scott.
