He was born in Tolleson on April 1, 1932 to the late Esteban and Juanita Gonzales.
George is survived by his wife Josephine, eight children Debra (Leonard) Howard, George Gonzales, Silverio “Tony” (Clara Marcus) Gonzales, Irene Morales, Jesus (Maria) Gonzales, Rosemary Gonzales, Esteban Gonzales & Enrique (Adrianna) Gonzales, eight siblings Johnny (Frances) Gonzales, Eva (Mario) Medina, Gilbert (Gloria) Gonzales, Hope (Tony) Sanchez, Raymond (Alice) Gonzales, Bobby (Christina) Gonzales, Stella (Matt) Pilett & Lydia (Jose) Cervantez. Also surviving are 39 grandchildren and 49 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents George was preceded in death by two grandsons Paul Gonzales & Esteban Gonzales, Jr., two sisters Dora Gam & Rosie Gonzales and a brother Edwardo Gonzales.
Family and friends are invited to a viewing on Thursday, October 20, 2016 from 6-8PM at West Resthaven Funeral Home, 6450 W. Northern Avenue, Glendale with a rosary at 7PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 21, 2016 at 10AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 5614 W. Orange Avenue, Glendale. Burial will follow at Resthaven Park Cemetery.
