

George graduated from Northeastern University in Boston, joined the US Marine Corp, and spent four years in the Pacific Theater serving in Saipan, Guam and Okinawa. George was always proud to have been a Marine. He was also an avid golfer and fabulous piano player.
For the past 16 years, George volunteered at the Glendale Police Department, receiving a Presidential Award from the White House in October 2007 for exceeding 10,000 hours of volunteer community service. He was again feted at an Appreciation Day held in April at his home with a number of his friends. Police Chief Steven Conrad presented him with a plaque and gold medal as thanks for his years of service.
George is survived by his loving wife of 36 years Dorothy (Dottie) Orman Tagg, three sons and daughters-in-law Garry (Cindy Barnes) of Beavercreek OH, Jeff (Judi) of Wheatridge CO, and Randy (Katie Coyle) of Pittsford NY. Also five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, four sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law, a cousin Sr. Maria Louden of the St. Joseph in Holyoke MA.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lynne Link in 1994.
Private Services will be held at Green Acres Glendale Mortuary, Glendale, AZ on July 26. Interment will be at the National Memorial Cemetery of AZ at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made to The Hospice of the Valley or the Glendale Police Department.
