Gilbert M. Valencia

Gilbert married Dora Mireles on February 12, 1971; they celebrated 51 years of marriage prior to her passing on November 30, 2022.

He was a Vietnam veteran having served in the United States Army for 6 years. Gilbert liked to drive and worked as a truck driver for many years before retirement.

He is survived by four sons Gilbert Jr., Billy, Richard (Lindsey) & Marty, six grandchildren Billy Jr., Monique, Iverson, Gabriel, Sydney & Leo, great grandson Miles, and a sister Beatrice Sainz.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by five siblings, Frank Valencia, Mercy Rodriguez, Socorro Mohamed, Mary Helen Williams & Charlotte Fernandez.

Family and friends are invited to a viewing on Sunday, August 6, 2023, from 3-5 PM with a rosary at 4 PM at West Resthaven Funeral Home, 6450 W. Northern Avenue, Glendale. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, August 7, 2023, at 10 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 5614 W. Orangewood Avenue, Glendale. Burial with military honors will follow in Resthaven Park Cemetery.
