Gilberto Rodriguez Vasquez

Gilberto Rodriguez Vasquez, a beloved, humorous, and hardworking man, passed away on July 9, 2025, at the age of 75. He was born on March 20, 1950, in Lagos de Moreno, Mexico, and at the age of 35, he moved to Arizona, where he spent the rest of his days.

Gilberto was a proud veteran of the Marine Corps; he served his country with honor and carried the values of duty and resilience throughout his life. After leaving the Marines, he worked as a mechanical engineer until his retirement.

On a personal level, he was a devoted father, a loyal brother, and a kind friend. He was exceptionally close to his daughter Jennifer, being her greatest support throughout her life. He also maintained his devotion to his late wife until his own passing.

With a strong Catholic faith that was a beacon of guidance and comfort for him and those who knew him. He loved music and often frequented Bar 10-12, in Clarkdale, AZ where he enjoyed live music and danced all night. Among his favorite artists were The Birds and Pink Floyd. He was an animal lover and, at one point, had nine pets. Although he loved nature, he preferred to enjoy it from the comfort of his air conditioning. With an incredible sense of humor, he never feared expressing his opinion, and his favorite drink was a screwdriver.

Gilberto was also a proud member of the American Legion Post #25. of Cottonwood, AZ As a good man who made everyone laugh and accepted everyone, he was an ally to all.

The services to celebrate Gilberto's life will be held at the Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary, located at 7924 North 59th Ave, Glendale, AZ 85301, USA. Visitation will be on July 19, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm, followed by the funeral service from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.

Gilberto will be deeply missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing him.

He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Anne Larrow, and his siblings: Juan Roberto Moreno, Silvio Vasquez, Vincent Vasquez, Lusi Lemus, Stella Huesca, Elsa Vasquez, Pricilla L. Vasquez, and Elena Barron.

Gilberto fue un orgulloso veterano del Cuerpo de Marines; sirvió a su país con honor y llevó consigo los valores del deber y la resiliencia a lo largo de su vida. Después de dejar los Marines, trabajó como ingeniero mecánico hasta su jubilación.

En el ámbito personal, fue un padre devoto, un hermano leal y un amigo amable. Estuvo excepcionalmente cercano a su hija Jennifer, siendo su mayor apoyo durante toda su vida. También mantuvo su devoción hacia su fallecida esposa hasta su propio fallecimiento.

Con una fuerte fe católica que fue un faro de guía y consuelo para él y quienes lo conocieron. Amaba la música y solía frecuentar el bar 10-12, Clarkdale, AZ, donde disfrutaba de la música en vivo y bailaba toda la noche. Entre sus artistas favoritos se encontraban los Birds y Pink Floyd. Era amante de los animales y, en algún momento, tuvo nueve mascotas. Aunque amaba la naturaleza, prefería disfrutarla desde la comodidad de su aire acondicionado. Con un sentido del humor increíble, nunca temió expresar su opinión, y su bebida favorita era un destornillador.

Gilberto también fue un orgulloso miembro del American Legion Post #25, Cottonwood, AZ. Como un buen hombre que hacía reír a todos y aceptaba a todos, fue un aliado para todos.
