

Gonzalo Carrillo passed away on August 10, 2023, at the age of 55 unexpectedly from a heart complication. Gonzalo was born in Tijuana, Mexico on December 11, 1967, to father, Gonzalo Carrillo Sr. and Mother Guadalupe Santoyo, he was the oldest of two sons. Gonzalo grew up in San Diego, California, and attended La Jolla High School. He went on to study Hotel Management and graduated from San Diego State University. Pursuing a career in culinary, he went on to study and graduate from the California Culinary Academy – Le Cordon Bleu in San Francisco, California. Over the years, Gonzalo worked in a variety of culinary positions throughout the world including in Mexico, Brazil, California, Washington State, & finally Arizona. It was in Arizona where Gonzalo reconnected with his past love, Gina Euzarraga. Together they created a lovely home and family which included a son and two fur babies, Lego and Rookie.
Gonzalo fully enjoyed what he did and was a giving, caring, and selfless soul. He made the time to show up for everyone who reached out, providing caring, trustworthy, and sound counsel. He shared his passion for his craft of cooking through mentoring others and would do anything for anyone. He was smart and a perfectionist almost to a fault. Gonzalo was very precise and would describe himself as occasionally being “stubborn.” Anyone who knew him knew that he was the most loving husband, father, sibling, uncle, and son a family could ask for. He shared this same love with his community of friends, professionals, and acquaintances spanning across the globe! He was a hardworking man of strong character and exceptional sense of humor. He was an enlightened manager and leader who made an impact on the lives of many and will be forever missed.
Gonzalo is survived by his loving Fiancée, Gina Euzarraga. Stepson Nicholas Euzarraga will forever be remembered by his sibling Roberto Carrillo and his mother Guadalupe Navarrete.
Gonzalo was predeceased by his father Gonzalo Carrillo Sr. and his loving grandparents.
A Rosary service will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church on Monday, August 28, 2023, at 9:30 AM with a funeral mass to follow at 10:00 AM.
