Gwendolyn Rodriguez, 95, of Avondale, Arizona peacefully passed on April 13, 2019 in Lubbock, Texas with her family by her side. Gwendolyn was born in Powell Co., Kentucky on October 25, 1923 to Lula Anderson-Travis and Ernest Tackett. She was one of 9 children. Gwendolyn was proud to be a home maker and have the honor to be with her children and watch them grow. Her family was her life. She was the best mother and a wonderful grandmother. She was one of the most generously sweet people! She spent her life giving and serving others. Her stories were priceless! She led a very eventful life, traveling to be with family until she was 95 to Montana, Texas, Idaho, Pennsylvania, Ohio, California, West Virginia, Kentucky, Virginia and Michigan. An amazingly strong and resilient woman!
Gwendolyn leaves behind children; Carley Workman, Patricia (Thomas) Thompson, Rick Rogers, Deborah (Tony) Bobeda, Rodney Rogers, and “adopted children”, Linda and Billy Killen, her siblings; Claude Travis, Blanche Ferguson, Bernard “Bear” Travis and Juanita Travis, grandchildren; Howard Killen, Kerry Damron, Colleen Roberts, Chris Killen, Pam Zoladz, Sherry Hill, Craig Brutto, Julie Kelly, Jared Thompson, Lisa Karns, Michelle Schroff, Angela Chavez, Johnny and Chris Clements, David and Sarah Dowdy, Raquel Carroll, Rhea Rogers, Cheryl, Rebecca, Nicky, Joshua, and Cinnamon Bobeda and Kristan Aldana, great grandchildren; Brittany and Joey, Craig Jr. and Amanda, Jason, James and Jane, Heather, Aaron and Hailey, Brooke, Breanna, Megan, Lindsey and Madelynn, Halle, Cade and Alexa, Alyssa, Madelyn, Ashlyn, Austin, Houstin, Madison, Gatlin, Preston, Shelby, Lexi and Logan.
Gwendolyn is preceded in death by her parents; Lula Travis and Earnest Tackett, her siblings; Roy Jean Mullins, Helen Mullins, Carole Sue High and Justine Mullins, husbands; Alf Killen and Reuben Rodriguez, children; Alfred Killen, Phyllis Read, and Sandra Clements, grandchildren; Cheryl Stanley, Jimmy Damron, Eddie and Ronnie Brutto, Eric Clements and Michael Grasser.
She will truly be missed by all and will forever be in our hearts.
