Born to Harry and Fannie Rhodes and brother to Harvey, Allan and Maxine.
He was raised on a farm outside of Noonan. In his senior year he was drafted and joined the Navy for his participation in WWII. He received his medic training at Farragut, Idaho and then was stationed in Guam for duty and then received his Honorable Discharge.
After WWII he worked at the coal mine at Noonan, North Dakota before moving to Minot, North Dakota. In Minot is where he met his wife Virginia L Domsten . They were married in 1951 and remained married for 49 years and produced 5 children, Diane, Duane, Delane, Debra and Rhonda. The family moved to Surrey in 1955 where they resided until moving to Glendale, Arizona in 1971.
He worked at Cashway lumberyard in his early years and also Talbots Nursery. He loved working with wood products which led to his next jobs. He installed interior doors, trim, cabinets and anything associated with wood with as much skill, pride, and craftsmanship as anyone could achieve. He went to work for Minot Sash and Door building and installing custom cabinets. He built dressers that replicated the dresser that was on the family farm as a child and was proud to donate a few of the chairs and dressers to charities and built storage cabinets for his church in Glendale. He built dressers and chairs and custom cabinets for his children and grandchildren. In Arizona he worked as a framing carpenter which provided a better life and standard of living for his family.
As the children grew up and moved into their adulthood, Harold and Virginia were blessed with 6 grandchildren, Maryann, Adam, Tyler, Lanae, Janet and Rebecca and 4 great grandchildren, Miranda, Haley, Addison and Rylan.
Harold is preceded in death by parents, brother Allan, wife Virginia and youngest daughter Rhonda . He is survived by Oldest brother Harvey and sister Maxine and 4 children, 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Our Dad was honest, hard working man, served his country when called with pride, took his family to church, and provide their necessities and extras. He loved country music like no other. He was a collector of spoons, plates, coins, snap back hats, pencils and a mountain collection of aluminum cans.
Rest in Peace Dad, Grandpa, Great Grandpa. We love you and will miss you.
