

Harry died May 26, 2012 with his wife at his side. He was born July 25, 1933 to Lee and Ethel Morgan in Ladiesburg, Maryland. He spent his youth helping on the farms where his father worked, quitting school after the seventh grade to help full time. He enlisted in the USAF in February 1952 and was reenlisting to fill his own vacancy. However, when he was unable to pass his physical exam he was retired as of twenty years service in July 1956 with the rank of S/SGT. After retiring and without a job that he could handle with his disabilities, he started by getting his GED and going to Hagerstown Business College with a degree in accounting. He was given a job working for a Dodge Dealership in Frederick where he worked for many years. After retiring and having no more children at home he and his wife moved to Glendale, AZ in 1977. He belonged to several disability organizations. He was a life member of the Washington and Lee Chapter #5 DAV and transferred to the Glendale Chapter #20 after moving to Glendale. He was also a life member of the Frederick, MD Chapter #2 Amvets. He also was a life member of the PVA. He was a member of the Disabled Citizens of Frederick County Maryland spending many hours working on “Barrier Free Design”. He was a member of the Multiple Sclerosis Society. After moving to Glendale he joined as a life member of the SGT’s Association. While living in Maryland he held several different offices in both DAV and Amvets organizations. Harry was a remarkable man, made friends easily and stayed aware to the last second. He will be missed. Harry leaves to celebrate his life his wife Ilea, three daughters: Debra and husband Harry Fisher of Casselberry FL, Deloras and husband Richard LaMaster of Seneca, SC and Dana Bacigaluppi of Waynesboro, PA, 9 grandchildren, 9 plus great grandchildren and three sisters Mildred and Bob Soures, Anna and Johnnie Doyle and Ada Fogle. He was preceded in death by his son Duane, one grandchild, his parents, two brothers, and three sisters. There will be an informal celebration of Harry’s life on Monday, June 4, 2012 at 10:00 AM at West Resthaven Funeral Home, 6450 W. Northern Ave. Glendale, AZ. Please NO Flowers.
