ArrangeHarry Eulaila Smith, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and last surviving of seven sisters, went to be with her Savior this past Friday after battling complications from a stroke sustained in November. Born December 2, 1919, in Campbell, Missouri, Eulaila was a fraternal twin to her sister Eula. After growing up in rural Missouri, she met the love of her life, Robert Glenn Smith of Arkansas and they moved to Tempe, Arizona. Married in 1942, they made their home in the greater Phoenix area while working in the citrus business and traveling the world together. The joys of Eulaila’s life were her family and friends, traveling to see all the world has to offer, a good story, and a challenging crossword puzzle. She is preceded in death by her parents, Riley Edward and Lou Jennie Mae Reel, sisters Berniece, Eula, Juanita, Gladys, Anna, and Esther. She leaves behind husband of 69 years Robert Glenn Smith, daughter Glenda Sharon Darnall (Richard), grandchildren Michael, Stephanie (Sally), and Bryan (Melissa), and great-grandchildren Michael and David. A Memorial Service will be held at 1pm Wednesday, February 15, 2012, at First Southern Baptist Church, 3100 W Camelback Rd. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Eulaila’s name to Hospice of the Valley (www.hov.org or 602-530-6992)
