She was born on November 24, 1929 in Evelyn, KY to the late Shelby and Anna Martin.
Jean spent her early years in KY and OH, where she married Perry Messer and began her family. Although living most of her life in AZ, she never lost her love of KY and always held family there and in OH very dear to her heart.
After moving to AZ, Jean and Harold Robertson married adding two sons, David and Jonathan to the family. Harold preceded Jean in passing to their heavenly home in February 2012.
Jean had a love for God and His Word and read the Bible through many times. Because of her Godly influence, some have come to know the Lord Jesus and many have been encouraged in their daily Christian walk. She attended church faithfully throughout her lifetime, which became the source of her many close friendships.
She is survived by one daughter, Sue, wife of Dee Livengood, and two sons, David and Jonathan Robertson; three grandchildren, Jim Livengood and wife Natosha, Beth Livengood-Anderson and husband Darrin, David Starr Robertson and wife Jessica; seven great grandchildren, Tori, Bayli, Gavin, Jake, Ian, Abbigale and Byron, and four great great grandchildren, Sedona, Tuesday, Thomas and Parker, and many special nieces and nephews.
