

Irma “Kitty” Durfee Reed Cameron of Glendale, Phoenix and Sun Lakes, Arizona, passed gently away Sunday, July 28, 2013. Kitty was born in New York City on September 21, 1921 to Herbert David Albert and Adeline Zelner. As a young woman, Kitty was a dancer in the theater in New York and a nurse’s aide during World War II. Moving to Arizona post-war, she was involved in local theater productions, gave dance lessons, was a civilian employee at Luke AFB, became active in the LDS church, and had a great family. Kitty loved reading and playing the organ. She always had a smile on her face and a nice word for everyone she met. Kitty was preceded in death by husbands Clifford Durfee, Warren Reed and David Cameron. She is survived by son David Durfee, daughter Deborah Cheatwood, and a number of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and stepchildren. Everyone loved her. And she is extraordinarily happy right now. Visitation will be held at the LDS Church First Pleasant Ward at 800 W. Chandler Heights Blvd., Chandler, AZ from 9-10:30am on Saturday, August 3. Services will follow at 11:00am.
