Jacqueline Bernice (nee Hickey) Blackshire was born June 23, 1927 in Seattle, WA. She passed away peacefully Christmas night, December 25, 2024 at the age of 97. She met Robert D. Blackshire at a church youth group activity and they were married Sept. 4, 1946. They settled in Arizona in 1963.
Jackie will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a homemaker and taught women's Bible study classes for many years.
Jackie was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Robert, son David C. Blackshire, granddaughter Bobbie J. Jenkins, brother Eugene Hickey and sister Paula Scheel.
She is survived by her children James P. (Valerie) Blackshire, JoDell M. Jenkins, Rebecca S. (Larry) Adams, Christie A. (Charles) Lord, and Julie B. (Steven) Jimenez. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, and sister Carla (Bill) Albertson.
Memorial services will be held January 3, 11:30 AM at Royal Palms Baptist Church, 8802 N. 19th Ave., Phoenix, AZ 85021. A private interment will take place prior to the memorial service.
