He was born on November 26, 1933 in St. Johns to the late Jesse and Ongelene Marble.
James served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.
He graduated from NAU.
James married Mary Howlett on December 20, 1969; they have shared over 51 years of marriage.
He was proud to be a Park Ranger for the Chiricahua National Monument. For over 26 years, James was an elementary school teacher, first in Double Adobe Arizona, and then for the Cartwright School District until he retired in 1993. Since then he exercised his creative skills, served others, and enjoyed sharing with friends and family.
He is survived by his wife Mary, two children Jennifer (James) Busselle & Russell (Kanani) Marble, 10 grandchildren Stillman, Addison (Thomas), Parker, Kiley, Coleman, Ty, Sawyer, Payton, Jessey & Maggie and numerous nieces & nephews.
In addition to his parents, son Daniel & three siblings Henry, Beth Dees & Glena Bryce preceded James in death.
Family and friends are invited to a viewing on Thursday, May 20, 2021 from 9-9:45AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 8602 N. 31st Avenue, Phoenix. Funeral services will begin at 10AM. Burial with military honors will be at 2PM at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, AZ 85024.
