James Edward Meyers, affectionately known as Jim, Jimbo, or Jimmy, passed away on May 19, 2025, at the age of 60 in Goodyear, Arizona, surrounded by his immediate family. Born in Phoenix, Arizona, on December 27, 1964, to Thomas P. Meyers and Diana L. Barnes, Jim lived a life full of service, love, and unwavering commitment to those around him.
A graduate of Maryvale High School, Jim went on to serve his country with honor as a Security Specialist in the U.S. Air Force, assigned to the 6960th Security Policy Squadron (ESC). After his military service, he built a long and successful career with Hensley Beverage Company, where he worked for 25 years. In 2020, he was proudly awarded the Budman Award in recognition of two decades of dedicated service.
Jim had a passion for sports and especially loved golf, a game he shared with his father, friends, and family—even when it tested his patience. He had a lifelong love for all sports and was a dedicated fan from a young age.
Jim is preceded in death by his grandparents and beloved mother, Diana. He is survived by his devoted wife of 39 years, Katrina A. Meyers, whom he met at just 14 years old; his daughter, Brittany J. Meyers; son-in-law, Matthew A. Maurer; and his cherished grandchildren, Keira J. Ritter, Isabella D. Ritter, and Brody J. Maurer. He is also survived by his father, Thomas P. Meyers; sister, Kerri Hahn, and brother in law Duane Hahn; and his extended family including brothers-in-law Charlie (Julian) Lopez, Steven Lopez, Larry Branham, and sister-in-law Lisa Branham. Jim also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who adored him, "Uncle Jim was the best and will be deeply missed."
The family extends heartfelt thanks to Donna Parrish, Brittany Meyers, and Kerri Hahn for their loving care and support in Jim’s final days, and to his second family at Hensley Beverage Company for their visits, kind words, and years of friendship. Jim truly loved being part of the Hensley team.
He will be remembered for his strength, sense of humor, loyalty, and the deep love he had for his family and friends.
A memorial service for James will be held Monday, June 2, 2025 from 10:00 AM at Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary, 7924 North 59th Ave, Glendale, Arizona.
