James Charles Tompkins

James Charles Tompkins was born on November 22, 1936, to James Leroy Tompkins and Rose Frangella Tompkins in Revina, New York. He was oldest of four children, his siblings included Marion, Dorothy, and Diane. He was married to Alice Tompkins also of New York. James started his career in the printing business, later becoming a claims adjuster in the insurance industry. He enjoyed working at Safeway during his later years in life.

As an avid golfer he enjoyed playing at least once a week or having lunch at the 19th hole. He traveled with his wife Alice to New York in their RV, visiting friends and family members. Favorite vacation locations included California, New York and Florida.

James is survived by four children, eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. James Charles Tompkins passed on August 20, 2022 in Glendale, Arizona.

He is preceded in death by his wife Alice, daughter Alice, and sister Diane.

A visitation for James will be held Monday, August 29, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary, 7924 North 59th Ave, Glendale, AZ 85301. A a celebration of life will occur Monday, August 29, 2022 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM, 7924 North 59th Ave, Glendale, AZ 85301. A graveside service will occur Monday, August 29, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at 0387 - Resthaven Park Cemetery, 6450 W Northern Ave, Glendale, AZ 85301.
