James Jimmie Edwin Weatherford

James (Jim) Edwin Weatherford, 85 of Laveen, AZ passed away Friday, September 9, 2016. Jim was born on December 7, 1930 to Elbert E and Emma (Angle) Weatherford in Rocky Ford, CO. He lived in Arizona for the past 80 years; he was the owner of Jim Weatherford Company, Weatherford Feed & Tack, Table Top Ranch to name a few. Throughout Jim’s life as a business man, he worked hard and took pride in his companies and employees. He always treated his employees like family, his home was their home. He loved horses and team roping. What Jim really loved the most in his life was having his family and friends come to his home or place of business for holidays and/or a barbecue or when a friend would stop by and sit on the back porch and shoot the breeze. Jim had a good heart. In recent years, Jim enjoyed his time attending CrossWalk Church and growing in the Lord.

Jim is survived by his son, Danny Weatherford and wife Yvonne of Glendale, AZ, daughter Marty Morris and husband Lanny of Aurora, CO and daughter Elly Penrod of Phoenix, AZ. His brother, Glenn Weatherford and wife Lana of Sun City, AZ. His five grandchildren; Josh, Danielle, Logan, Reese and Wylene. Ten great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elbert Edwin and Emma Ethel (Angle), his wife Wylie Udell (Peirce), his daughter Wylene Del and his second wife Sandra Rae (Merchant), and his sisters Ethel Roland and Ida Chapman.

A Memorial Service will take place at 11:00 am Monday, September 19, 2016 at Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary 7924 N. 59th Ave Glendale, AZ 85301.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Wounded Warriors or 100 Club of Arizona.
