Janet L. Stripe, age 93, born to Leo & Pearl Wright, passed away peacefully at home on September 27, 2026, from complications of a stroke following a hip fracture on August 4th in Phoenix, AZ.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Lola and Bertie, brother, Kerry, and her daughter, Karen, who passed at age 45. She is survived by her son, Kenton, her daughter, Kathryn, 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 9 great-great grandchildren, 3 nephews, 1 niece, and 1 great niece.
Janet was a Korean War Veteran, known as a “WAC”, (Women’s Army Corp), and spent many additional years in the National Guard, as well as over 50 years with the American Legion.
She would often quote General MacArthur, in saying “Old soldiers never die, they just fade away”.
