We are very sad to say goodbye to our son, brother, uncle, nephew, friend, and colleague, Jarrod Lee Reed, an ultimate computer geek, and connoisseur of great food. Jarrod was known for his sense of humor, as the family computer help desk, and not above a good prank. Recently, he was fascinated with sunrises and sunsets and would send pictures of them to his family. He loved a well-cooked meal. He even liked to cook it himself.
Junior High started Jarrod’s love for computers. In Junior High, he started his first business called Disc Watchers. When he graduated from high school in 1987, he couldn’t wait to get out of the cold and decided Arizona would be a little warmer. Little did he know that he would grow to love it and would never live in the cold again.
When he moved to Arizona, Jarrod attended DeVry University. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Operations in February 1991. While attending DeVry, Jarrod worked at Software City where he got to sell “and play with” computer software and help design operational procedures for the business. Jarrod was fascinated by the World Wide Web, before anyone knew what the World Wide Web was. Through his business with Glen Johnson, he met people from Future City and helped them develop their regional interactive website. His next move was to SRP where he got to develop his long-term career with all things data related.
Jarrod was born to Clifford LeRoy Reed and Judy Fay Reed (Greenheck) on July 6, 1969, in Dillon, Montana. He passed away on August 25, 2024, in Phoenix, Arizona.
He is survived by his father, Clifford LeRoy Reed, his sisters, Karyl Elaine Smith, Christi Jo Knight, nieces Rebecca Jean Smith and Kaitlin Elizabeth Knight and nephew Bryan Howell Knight, Aunt Joy Jean Kocher and Aunt Judith Helen (Reed) Robertson, Uncle Robert Roy Greenheck and numerous cousins.
