Jerry Don Hood

Jerry Don Hood, entered into eternal rest on June 23, 2018 in Youngtown, Arizona. He was born in Lubbock, Texas on January 4, 1942 to Aubrey Austin Hood and Cleddie Lois (Tate) Hood, and went on to graduate from Shallowater High School in 1960. The very next day, May 29, 1960, Jerry married his high school sweetheart Andra Lee Adkins. Jerry and Andra would remain devoted to each other for the next 56 years.

Before his retirement, Jerry worked in construction as a cement truck driver and was member of Teamsters Local Unions 104 and 183. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his beloved grandchildren whenever he could. He was also a member of Kingswood Park Church of Christ in Surprise.

Jerry leaves behind his beloved wife, Andra, his two daughters, Jerri Dawnett Hood and Tanya Baker (Jim), his four grandchildren, William Ackley, Michael Ackley, Shaelyn Baker, and Carson Baker, and several nieces and nephews.

He has gone to join the loved ones who preceded him in death, including his parents Aubry and Cleddie, and his three brothers, Garlin, Aubrey and Gary Hood.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at 10 AM with visitation for family and friends beginning just before at 9:30 AM both held at West Resthaven Funeral Home, 6450 W Northern Ave, Glendale, AZ.
