Jesse D. Mireles, PhD, a distinguished architect, cherished professor, and beloved family member, passed away on August 15, 2024. Born on December 10, 1947, Jesse leaves behind a legacy of dedication, warmth, and profound impact on those around him.
Jesse was a decorated Vietnam Army veteran, proudly serving with the 25th Infantry Division. His commitment to excellence extended into his professional life as well. For 28 years, he served as a college professor at Maricopa County Community College, where his influence and passion for architecture touched countless students. In addition to his academic career, Jesse co-founded an architecture firm in Houston, TX, and later owned and operated his own construction company from 2015 to 2020.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sandy, with whom he shared many joyful years of travel, movies, and dining out. Jesse is also remembered by his siblings: Edward Sr. (Jeanette (deceased)), Frank Sr. (Betty), and Carol Santillan (Geno), along with many nieces and nephews who were deeply cherished by him. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary, with whom he shared 50 years of marriage.
Jesse was known for his infectious laughter and his beautiful, caring spirit. His life was a testament to his love for his family and his passion for his work. He will be remembered as a warm, generous soul who made a significant impact on all who knew him.
A memorial service to honor Jesse’s life will be held Monday August 26, 2024 from 9:00 am to 10:00 am with a funeral service to start at 10:00 am. A committal service will follow. All services will be held at Forest Park East Funeral Home & Cemetery, located at 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, Texas 77598.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Disabled American Veterans in Jesse’s memory.
