

John "Jack" William Hannum, Sr., 95, of Peoria, Arizona entered into heaven on January 17, 2020. Jack was born in Westmont, Haddon Township, New Jersey on March 17, 1924 to Henry Ogden & Eva Hannum, the third of three children. Jack grew up in Haddonfield, New Jersey and graduated from Collinswood High School. Jack went on to join the military; the Army Air Corp on February 1943 & was discharged on February 1945. He received a Good Conduct Medal, WWII Victory Medal, American Campaign & an Asiatic Campaign Medal. Jack met the love of his life, Leonora Emma, and together had three children. Jack enjoyed the Boy Scouts for 32 years,hunting, fishing, camping, boating and wood working.
Jack leaves behind his sons; John William Hannum, Jr. and wife Wendy, Timothy Ray Hannum; four grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. Jack also leaves to cherish his memory a close family friend, who he thought of as a son, Leif and Cindy Isaacson; their daughters Colleen and Krista; and Krista's two children.
Jack is preceded in heaven by his love, Leonora, of 66 years; his parents, a brother & sister, & daughter Nora Jean Neville.
Jack spent his life in service as a California Highway Patrolman for 26 years and joined the Mended Hearts after his open heart surgery in 1981. In Mended Hearts he visited other heart patients every week for 39 years and served as President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Financial Secretary. He was an LA County Deputy Coroner for a couple of years.
A "Celebration of Life" is being planned at this time to be held at "Jack's" residence, "Amethyst Arbor", date to be announced.
