

He is survived by his loving wife Mary, daughter Sue Middleton Stewart, sons, Phil Middleton and David Middleton, brothers James Middleton and Bobby Middleton, sister Stella Davis, 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and many nieces and nephews. John is preceded in death by his father and mother John and Stella Middleton, brother Frank and sister Mary Lee Roberts.
John was a good Christian and member of the Maryvale Baptist Church where he was a loved Deacon and Sunday School Teacher. He was active in the Seekers and Men’s group at the church. John was a resident of Lyons Kansas for 38 years, while living in Lyons Kansas he was active with his children and grandchildren’s lives. He loved all of his family dearly. He also owned the Tobias Birchenough Concrete and Gravel Company, after selling the company he was a real estate broker and appraiser. He also worked for the US Postal Service as a rural carrier. John was always active in the communities he lived as a City Councilmen, President, Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis club, Mayor and many various community Boards. He was also a big sports fan and had played professional baseball in his younger years.
There will be a celebration of life at the Maryvale Baptist Church on 10-11-2014 at 2pm and second Life celebrations on 11-1-2014 at the United Methodist Church in Lyons Kansas.
