John William Miller

John was born in Los Angeles on June 18, 1939 to the late Joseph and Helen Miller. He was raised and lived in Arizona 72 years of his life.

He graduated from St. Mary’s in 1957 and also received his associate’s degree from Phoenix College.

John was married to Juanita Sherrill on December 31, 1980 in Yorkville, Illinois and was happily married for 37 years!

John was a production supervisor at Honeywell for 33 years retiring in 1994. After he retired, he decided to work another 22 years at Yavapai Casino retiring again in March 2016.

He loved watching sports, fishing, bowling, playing cards and being with his family. John was a faithful member of St. Thomas More Church and a devout Catholic. He was a member of the Elks club and Decca.

He is survived by his wife Juanita, five children Don (Jan) Martin, Terry (Nancy) Martin, Vicki Forman, Cheryl (Kenny) Neal & Anthony Sherrill, sister Betty Jo Phillips and two brothers Joe (Linda) Miller & Robert (Wendy) Miller. John is also survived by 11 grandchildren Brandi Erickson, A.J. Sherrill, Michelle Martin, Christopher Martin, Bradley Sherrill, Justin Neal, Austin Neal, Jonathan Sherrill, Sean Martin, Ashley Neal & Jacob Neal, two great grandchildren Aubrey & Logan Erickson and his beloved dog Molly.

In addition to his parents John was preceded in death by his son Sean Sherrill.

Family and friends are invited to a rosary on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at 10AM at the Church of St. Thomas More, 6180 West Utopia Road, Glendale, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30AM and a reception in the reception hall of the Church immediately following the Mass.
