He was born on August 9, 1971, to Ernesto Virgil and Celina De Leon in Mexico City. Jose Luis grew up in Mexico City, where he would grow up and work to help his mother sustain a family of three. A few years later, he ventured out to the United States seeking opportunity and a chance for a better life. He was lucky to find work, shelter, and eventually the love of his life with whom he would have three beautiful children. He was always determined to expand his knowledge on his personal time through textbooks, encyclopedias and other media. His life was full of opportunities, adventures and most importantly love.
In 1991, Jose Luis met Jacqueline in Arizona. They went on to have three children, Judith, Jose, and Jennifer. He continued to provide for his kids and spent his time raising, supporting, and loving his family. For over 20 years, he would leave the house for work by 6 o’clock in the morning and return at 6 o’clock in the evening. He spent his free time with his family either enforcing Sunday pancakes for breakfast or going out to the local Chinese buffet; he always watched over his children and ensured the family had food and water on the table. Later in life, he loved to listen to his music and dance. Jose held his head high and had a hospitable demeanor towards others.
Jose Luis was predeceased by his father, Ernesto Virgil and his brother Ernesto Virgil Jr. He is survived by his love, Jacqueline, his children, Judith, Jose (Luis), and Jennifer. His mother Celina, his sisters Wendy, Liz, and Nancy, and his brother Eddie.
A formal celebration and farewell service will be held at West Resthaven on Saturday June 29, 2024, at 9:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to fundraise our beloved Jose Luis and the unexpected and untimely memorial.
