Joyce grew up in Downers Grove in Illinois. She graduated from Downers Grove High School. While in high school, she met the love of her life at a local gathering. They were forbidden to date as she was a protestant and her love was catholic. Just after she graduated from high school, and just after she turned 18 years old, she and Kenn eloped and were married in Wisconsin. They returned home and after some time they were accepted by both sides of the family. Joyce and Kenn opened a dry cleaning business and started a family. They had four children Mike, Terry, Pat and Jeff.
Joyce was very active raising her family while working and taking classes in college. In the 70’s, she went to work as a medical secretary at the county hospital. At about 58 years old Joyce started work at Farmers Insurance for many years. Joyce’s true love was her family. She made cakes for everybody’s birthday and made sure no one was forgotten. She hand painted Christmas ornaments and gifted them to family and friend for over 75 years. Joyce made sure that they celebrated Christmas and every other holiday together. In the 90’s Joyce made a decision to quit working and focus her time to her great grandchildren, helping care for them. Joyce loved her animals, especially her beloved “Baby” who has passed. Since then she acted as a foster mom for the Arizona Basset Hound Rescue. Joyce leaves behind her pets Priscilla, Mr. Butthead, Joxer, and Zoe Zoe.
Joyce leaves behind her children Terry and Jeff; grandchildren; great grandchildren; and many close family and friends.
Joyce is preceded by her husband; parents; and children Pat and Mike.
