Judy Ann Marcos

Judy Ann Marcos, 83, passed away on June 27, 2026. Born on November 21, 1942, in Edgerton, Missouri, she later lived in Paris, France, and Cheyenne, Wyoming, before settling in Glendale, Arizona. Throughout her life, Judy was deeply cherished. She was known for her gentle strength, steady patience, and a generosity of spirit that made others feel cared for and at ease.

Judy graduated from Glendale High School, where she was a cheerleader, bringing energy and warmth to those around her. She devoted herself to her family and home as a homemaker and also worked as a hairdresser. Both roles reflected her hard-working nature and her quiet, selfless way of serving others. Her faith remained a constant source of guidance, and she found comfort and connection through attending church and Bible study.

In retirement, Judy spent meaningful years in Concho at the cattle ranch and in Pinetop, Arizona. During her time in Northern Arizona, she enjoyed hunting for Indian/Native American arrowheads and pottery. This interest paired naturally with her love of searching for rocks, pennies, and other small treasures. She also found joy in jigsaw puzzles, tending to her flower garden, and caring for her outdoor kitty cats. Judy’s hospitality was unmistakable; she loved cooking for family and friends, and her favorites were well known: homegrown tomatoes, corn on the cob, sweets and ice cream, hamburgers (but never with cheese!), and orange chicken from Panda Express.

Judy shared more than 60 years of marriage with her husband, Mark Gumersindo Marcos. She was a devoted mother to her son Joe, her daughter Paula, and her son Mark (Little Mark). Her pride in her children was constant and unmistakable. Her kids were her world, and she spoke of them often and with joy. She was also a loving grandmother to Jody, Kylie, Tanner, and Hunter, and a great-grandmother to Maverick and Coues.

Those who knew Judy will remember her as kind-hearted and faithful, with a gentle humor and a resilient optimism that consistently looked for the brighter side. She had a way of being a light in so many lives through her warmth, her smile, her laugh, and her enduring spirit. She loved people openly and lived with a rare grace that left no room for bitterness.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to all family and friends for their love and support, and offers special gratitude to the A+ care giving team who provided Judy with comfort and friendship: Lisa, Estella, Tumara, Shelley, and Sylvia.

Judy’s favorite quote was, “Everything happens for a reason.” Her life also reflected the words of Proverbs 31:26: “She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.”

To honor Judy’s vibrant spirit and her love of colorful flowers, the family kindly invites those attending to wear bright, cheerful colors. Your colorful presence will be a beautiful tribute to the joy and light she brought to so many lives.
