Kevin Matthew Melvin

December 16, 1969 – May 24, 2025
Obituary of Kevin Matthew Melvin
IN THE CARE OF

West Resthaven Funeral Home & Resthaven Park Cemetery

Kevin Matthew Melvin, a beloved and humorous soul, passed away on May 24, 2025, at the age of 55. He resided in Glendale, Arizona, where he shared many joyful moments with his family and friends.

Born on December 16, 1969, in Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania, Kevin was the cherished son of Robert and Maryann Melvin.

Though he never married, Kevin shared a significant bond with Nicole Riley, his partner of 30 years. Together, they raised two daughters, Alexis & Desiree.

Kevin was known for his wit and humor, often crafting his own jokes and taking great care to perfect them. If a joke didn't land, he would humorously admit, "I need to rework that." He had a passion for Halloween, going all out every year, and was a fan of 70's rock, especially the guy who made the guitar talk.

A skilled woodworker, Kevin enjoyed creating birdhouses and had a knack for making custom license plate signs for his dogs. He was a man full of creativity, with a head full of ideas for children's books, though he never quite got around to writing them.

Kevin is survived by Nicole, their two daughters Alexis (Cody) Riley & Desiree Melvin, his mother Maryann, son, Jonathan Risoldi; his siblings, Karen (Curtis) Thomas, Jeanette (Patrick) Muldoon, Robert (Jennifer) Melvin, Jr. and Patricia (Joseph) Payne; and a plethora of nieces and nephews. His loyal dog, Bowie, who was like his best friend, will surely miss him too.

Kevin was preceded in death by his father, Robert, and his beloved dog, Jesse.

As Kevin would say, "Peter Frampton is the guy that made the guitar talk, in case you didn't know!" His lighthearted spirit and love for life will be fondly remembered by all who know him.
