Leslie Duane Campbell

Les experienced some hard times in his early childhood. At the age of 4 ½ years, he was badly burned in a trailer fire, where his 2 ½ year old Sister, Lorraine died. Doctors stated that if he survived, he would have a difficult Life with his burns affecting him to have a normal future. He was a fighter!

Les worked on ranches, bailed hay, and never complained of those injuries.

In August of 1965, Les met his Future Wife, Romelia Torres, while she was on a Missionary Trip to Colorado. Five months later, they were married in Phoenix, Arizona. Having two children was a great Blessing to them: Toby Campbell and Judy Campbell. The Marriage continued in Spiritual Work wherever they lived. In times of ups and downs, Christ was the Guiding Hand.

In the 30 Years of Les running his Mobile Home Business, “APEX MOBILE HOME SERVICE,” he embodied his Christian Faith to the people he served with Honesty and Integrity. His early work involved Towing Manufactured Homes, which resulted in an incident of avoiding an elderly couple making a sudden turn off the I-10 freeway, and him crashing that nearly cost him his life, and then a 2nd Driving Incident where his Buddy was driving and got into an accident that cost his friend his life, but by the Grace of God, Les survived. It was not his Time to meet the Lord.

In 2006, a fall off a mobile home ended his Business Career. He retired but continued assisting other business friends in whatever capacity without pay.

Les loved hunting and fishing, enjoying the things he had done growing up in Colorado. With every opportunity, he fished, always keeping his fishing poles ready to go!

His Family was his first love after Jesus Christ. He served the Church diligently and attended until his health diminished.

In 60 Years of Marriage, his Spiritual walk and Family occupied his Life.

Les enjoyed Life, shared his Life with others, and to Les, no one was a stranger. Starting as a child, Les always worked by Selling Newspapers and mowing lawns in Craig, Colorado. Les has always had a Work Ethic, as noted by all who knew him!

A country boy at heart, Les hated suits; he dressed in country style, and he would complain when he had to wear a tie; he couldn’t wait to take it off!

He is surely loving it now, being with Jesus Christ in Heaven!

Visitation will be held at Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary, 7924 North 59th Ave, Glendale, AZ 85301, US, on August 6, 2026, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am, followed by the Funeral Service at the same location on August 6, 2026, from 10:00 am to 10:40 am.

A Graveside Service will take place at Resthaven Park Cemetery, 6450 West Northern Ave, Glendale, AZ 85301, US, on August 6, 2026, from 11:00 am to 11:30 am.
