Linda Denise Speaks, a kind-hearted and cherished soul, passed away on August 12, 2025, at the age of 57. Born on November 4, 1967, Linda was a gentle presence in the lives of all who knew her. She was a resident of Phoenix, Arizona.
Linda was born and raised in Valparaiso, Indiana, and graduated from Chesterton High School with the class of 1986. As a child and teenager, she was energetic and loved finding adventure. After high school, Linda and her friends moved to Arizona to start their adult lives together, finding their first real jobs at the Wigwam.
In 2004, Linda married the love of her life, Chad Speaks. Their love story began at Sun City Animal Rescue, where Linda worked and Chad volunteered. Their shared love for Led Zeppelin and a dog named Bonham brought them together. On their first date, Linda expressed her desire for a partner who would love her, and Chad knew he was the man for the job.
Linda had a deep love for animals, often adopting those that no one else wanted. She enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, including weekly traditions with Chad, antique shopping, and crafting. Although she didn't have a green thumb, she loved plants, and her home was filled with her creative projects.
A devoted member of Venture Church in Arizona, Linda was beloved by her fellow church members. She was actively involved in the Celebrate Recovery Women's Group, where she enjoyed volunteering.
Linda's Christian faith was a cornerstone of her life. She wished for her passing to be celebrated as her finding her forever home with her Lord and Savior, having been reborn in her faith.
Linda is survived by her spouse, Chad Speaks; her sister, Lori Stipp (Paul Bradley Anders); her mother, Doris E. Stipp (Boyce); her niece, Kirsten L. Lange (Anders) (Nicholas Lange); her nephew, Nathan C. Anders; and her great-nephews, Augustine Lange, Martin Lange, and Theodore Lange. She was preceded in death by her father, Ronald G. Stipp.
Linda's gentle spirit and loving nature will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who were fortunate to know her.
