She attended country school District #19 and was the Medford High School 1948 Salutatorian. Lois was a 1951 graduate of Mankato State College with a degree in Music and Art. Subsequently she taught art in Red Wing, MN. After a year or so of teaching art in Red Wing, Minnesota, her health led her to travel to Glendale, Arizona. Lois continued her teaching career until her marriage to William Lamb on June 7, 1955. After her divorce she became church secretary at Grace Lutheran until her retirement in Spring of 2006.
She was taken to be with her Lord on July 6, 2018. Lois was very active in Bible class and the music program at Grace including many years as choir director. Generations of members and children will remember her as the “cookie lady.”
She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Carlton. She is survived by her sons Joseph (Cathy) and John (Sandy), three grandchildren and six great grandchild. She is also survived by two sisters, Veva Baden in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Hazel Scheitel in Rochester Minnesota.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be designated to Grace Lutheran 1952 Church Building Fund, Tuition Assistance Fund of Grace Lutheran School, or Grace Lutheran Ladies Aid.
