Lorene graduated from Anderson High School and went on to gain her Associates Degree at Shasta College in Redding, California. Lorene married Arvard M. Pruitt on September 7, 1952. Lorene was a professional seamstress and had her own home business, making clothing and wedding dresses including her daughter’s and their bridesmaid dresses. She was a very active member at First Baptist Church and Bowman Community Church for many years teaching Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and Ladies Bible Studies. She especially enjoyed leading and directing special church events and programs. Lorene had a passion for writing and published a poetry book entitled, “Joyful in Affliction”.
Lorene leaves behind her four children Rosanne Pruitt, Craig (Mary) Pruitt, Lonnie (Kathy) Pruitt, and Terri (Richard) Jones; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She also leaves behind three brothers, Russell, Walter and Daniel Rhodes. Lorene is preceded in Heaven by her husband and parents. Lorene was loved by family and friends and she will be missed.
The family would like thank the caregivers and staff of Glencroft Senior Living for their compassionate care of Mom and amazing support to family. Also, to Hospice of the Valley for their invaluable care of Mom and support and guidance to family.
