McLeod, Louise Carol Rothengatter passed away on June 7, 2023 at the age of 85. She was born on September 29, 1937 in Jamaica, Long Island, New York. After her early years in New Jersey, Louise moved with her family to Globe, Arizona and graduated from Globe High School in 1954. She went on to obtain a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from The University of Arizona in 1957, which led to many years working as an executive secretary for the World Bank, 3M Company, the Arizona Chamber of Commerce, and the Arizona State Legislature, where she supported the work of Ann Day in the ‘80’s. Louise, “Lou” to some, met her future husband, Neil McLeod, while they were both working at the Arizona State Capitol in the early 1960’s. They shared 48 happy years of marriage living in both Washington and Arizona. Louise was much loved and is survived by her step-children, Vicki McLeod Balentine (John) of Tucson, Judith McLeod of Los Angeles, and Robin McLeod Ault (Dave) of Rapid City, her brother, Phil (Ginger) Rothengatter of Tucson, her sister Ruth (Ray) Gooding of Longview, Washington, eight grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. The family is grateful and very much appreciates the staff at Atria at Compana del Rio in Tucson for their caring, compassion and love for Louise during the last few years of her life. Private family services are planned at a later date.
