She is survived by her brother Peter Haney, two daughters: Jeannette Zemeida and Peggy Sue Macdonald, and two grandsons.
She retired from Maricopa Community College District in 2002 and made a point to make the most of her retirement. She joined the Red Hat Society and was a member in at least two chapters to that she could take advantage of the various activities they offered.
She was a strong willed individual and lived life on her own terms. She loved to dress up for Halloween and wore different hats for every holiday. She walked with a cane and decorated the cane as well. Her colorful and eye-catching hats drew many eyes and many comments – which she always enjoyed.
