

Mangon Thomas Jr. was born on April 23, 1941, in Mansfield, Louisiana, the beloved son of Rosie Robinson and Mangon Thomas Sr. In the early 60's, Mangon moved to California where he lived a life filled with laughter, kindness, and adventure. He was a loved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, known for his quick wit, playful comebacks, and warm spirit.
Mangon is survived by his four daughters, Connie Thomas, Alice Thomas, Lisa (Chris)Thomas-Buirse, and Jacqueline Thomas; his grandchildren, Barry Thomas, James Loudon, Shamere Currelly, LaToya Thomas, Anthony James, Christina Thomas, Rachel Kendrick, Quinnton Lauderdale, Jasmine Buirse, and Quisha Nabors; as well as over 20 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his beloved siblings, Sonny (Sylvester), Ruth Hazel (Michael), Rosemary, Bobby Sue, Charles (Esther), Earnest (Nanette), countless nieces and nephews, and many more family members who cherished him deeply.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Curtis, Jerry, Lottie Mae, Ophelia, Craven, and Mandy.
A true lover of the outdoors, Mangon found joy in the sunshine, the beach, and the simple pleasures of nature. He was an active man, spending years playing on a softball team and competing in bowling leagues, where he formed lasting friendships and unforgettable memories.
Mangon was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by all who knew him. His humor, kindness, and adventurous spirit will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
