Margaret “Peggy” Ann Shouse, loving mom and grandma, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2016, at the age of 84. Peggy was born August 29, 1932 in New Kensington, PA, to Harry Ellsworth Shearer and Gladys Mae Jones Shearer, the second youngest of 8 children. She moved with her parents and younger brother to Phoenix, at the age of 15, due to her father’s health. Peggy attended North High School. She retired from Wist Office Products in 1998, to be able to spend more time with her family. Her most cherished roles in life were being a mother and grandmother, and she was the BEST, not only to her own family but to countless others as well. She believed her family and friends were her greatest treasures. Peggy had a smile and laugh that lit up a room and warmed everyone’s hearts. Peggy was preceded in death by her loving husband, Richard Lawrence Shouse, Jr., six wonderful brothers and one amazing sister. Loving survivors include mother-in-law Dorothy Shouse, daughter Cheryl Adams (Michael), daughter Charlene Duff (Stephen), sons Richard and James Shouse, grandchildren Ashley & Courtney Duff, Ian & Jenna Adams. “All that I am or hope to be, I owe to my angel mother.”-President Abraham Lincoln. The family of Peggy wishes to extend sincere thanks to Hospice of the Valley. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Hospice of the Valley or American Cancer Society. Peggy was a die-hard Arizona Diamondbacks fan. In her honor, please wear your favorite Diamondbacks clothing (or something purple or teal, the only true team colors in her mind). Services will be Saturday, September 10th at 10:00 a.m. at West Resthaven Funeral Home, 6450 West Northern, Glendale.
