Marilyn Jean Matthews, 89, of Glendale, Arizona, passed away on October 27, 2026. Born on November 28, 1936, Marilyn will be remembered with deep respect and enduring affection by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Marilyn attended High School and went on to devote her life to her home and family. A homemaker, she kept busy raising her five children, giving her days to the steady, meaningful work of caring, guiding, and being present.
Her life was marked by devotion—to her husband, to her children, and to her grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Molly, Anita, Jenny, Danny, and Bill, as well as 12 grandchildren. In the lives she shaped and the family she nurtured, Marilyn’s legacy continues with strength and tenderness.
A woman of Catholic faith, Marilyn carried herself with a quiet reverence that informed the way she lived and welcomed others. She also found joy in painting, and she treasured the opportunity to travel in Europe with her brother and sister—experiences that remained part of the rich fabric of her life.
Marilyn was, above all, deeply loved, and her warmth made others feel at ease. Her welcoming spirit will be remembered in the many small kindnesses and steady presence that defined her days and strengthened those around her.
