Mark Samuel Brethwaite passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 23, 2023. Mark was born on February 21, 1962 in Lawton, Oklahoma. At birth, Mark was diagnosed with Down syndrome, and his doctors believed he would only live for a short time. Mark proved them wrong, and instead went on to spread joy to everyone around him for 61 wonderful years. Mark had a gentle soul and always greeted you with a big smile.
He loved looking at photographs, and was always delighted to show off his collection. An avid fan of Batman and Spider-Man, Mark also loved watching cartoons and reading comic books.
For the past 16 years, Mark has been cared for by the Patrutescu family in their group home. We know Mark loved them very much, and we thank them for caring and loving him.
A graveside service will be held at 10am on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at Resthaven Park Cemetery 6450 W, Northern Ave Glendale, Arizona
