Mary Ann Lee, 73, passed away on November 21, 2014, in Glendale, AZ. She was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on December 14, 1940, to Martin and Marie Zurowski. Mary grew up and lived in Milwaukee until relocating to Phoenix in 1969. An avid bowler in her youth, she spent her entire career with the telephone company starting with “Ma Bell” and retiring from what is now CenturyLink. Mary was a devout Catholic and a devoted, single mother of three. She enjoyed spending time with friends, as well as volunteering at church and traveling the country by car. She loved her kids, her dogs, watching football and old Westerns, cooking, Budweiser and ice cream. She had a wonderful sense of humor, which she passed on to her children. Mary was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Gina Messner. She is survived by her daughter, Julie Lee Woodard; her son-in-law, Donald Woodard; her sons, Jim Lee and John “Doc” Holliday; her daughter-in-law, Sara Holliday; her sisters, Kathleen Schulz and Dorothy Zurowski; three nieces and four grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 4, from 6-8 pm at Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary, 7924 N. 59th Ave. in Glendale followed by a funeral Mass on Friday, December 5, at 10 am at St. Jerome Catholic Church, 10815 N. 35th Ave in Phoenix.
