Mary Kathryn Van Court

Kathryn Van Court, 90, was called home to our Lord on September 2nd 2017 in Glendale Arizona. Kathryn, a 60 year resident of Phoenix, was born October 14th 1926 in Georgetown Illinois. In her early years she started a career in radio in Illinois. She gave birth to her only child, her beloved son Michael Shake, March 17th 1949. Kathryn moved to Phoenix in 1957 and started a career in television advertising at KPHO Channel 5 in Phoenix where she worked for 31 years. In Phoenix Kathryn met her soul mate, Harry Van Court and the two married August 31st, 1963. They were married for 48 years.

In life Kathryn loved to sew and bake. After retiring she and her husband enjoyed traveling the United States. She was a loving and caring Wife, Mother and Grandmother.

Kathryn is lovingly remembered by her three granddaughters Mary Vasquez, Stephanie Shake and Michelle Coria and her brother R.C. Moore. As well as her three grandsons in law and her seven great grandchildren Robert Vasquez Jr., Victoria Vasquez, Raymond Alonzo Jr., Anthony Alonzo, Cynthia Alonzo, Michael Coria and Rio Coria.

Visitation will be held at West Resthaven Funeral Home at 6450 W Northern Ave, Glendale, AZ 85301 on Monday September 11th 2017 from 4PM to 8PM. Funeral services will also be held at West Resthaven Funeral Home in Glendale, AZ on Tuesday September 12th at 10am. Kathryn will be laid to rest following services at Resthaven Park Cemetery also in Glendale, AZ
