MARYHELEN "ELENA" (GRIJALVA) MORENO

Loving wife, mother, nana, sister, aunt, and friend, she will be missed by so many. Elena was known for her kindness, generosity, and genuine love for everyone.

Elena started her early career working as a seamstress and electronics assembler. Following her marriage to her husband Frank of 61 years. She committed her life to him and their family.

Elena loved her monthly luncheons with her alumni and friends from Glendale High School. Whom she enjoyed and cherished.

Elena’s hobbies included gardening, cooking, sewing, embroidery, her joy of shopping, and entertaining family and friends. Elena was a sports fanatic supporting her Phoenix Suns and the AZ Cardinals. She also enjoyed live events such as Mariachis, Theatre, and live music. Elena’s love for Mexican music was a daily sound especially her favorite “Juan Gabriel”. She enjoyed dancing and was often asked to lead the “Wedding March”.

Elena enjoyed her novels, going out to the movies, dining out, and her yearly trips to San Diego with her beloved family and friends.

Elena served as a Eucharist Minister through the Catholic Church. She was a dedicated volunteer at Mission of Mercy, as a medical interpreter, for over 18 years. She served her patients with compassion and kindness. She significantly impacted their lives.

Elena enjoyed Christmas, especially making tamales. She had so many requests for her tamales and champurrado. Which she enjoyed sharing with others.

Elena adored her grandchildren, she spent many days attending their sporting events.

Elena was known for her lifelong teachings to her children. The value of the church, family commitment, and life. Elena was present and committed to the well-being of those she loved.

Elena spread love and kindness everywhere she went. Our acts of kindness to each other are part of the legacy she leaves us.

As we mourn Maryhelen's passing, we also celebrate her life and the impact she made on us. We are grateful for the time we had with her and for all she did to support her family and her community.
