I went to Glendale High School from 1970 to 1974. I took PE all four years and one of the reasons why is because of Mrs. Bacon. I absolutely adored her. She had such a good personality once you got to know her. She ended up teaching my niece many years later and she loved her too. I send my sincere condolences to her family and friends.

Mrs. Bacon was my PE teacher during my four years at Glendale High School (1971-1975). I loved her sense of humor and she let you know the right way of doing things. I really learned a lot from her. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family.

Melba will definately be missed by all who had the pleasure to know her. I graduated in 1972 from GHS, she was also my PE teacher, as mentioned she was a no nonsense teacher, but fair. I had the privilege to get to know her on a personal note. Melba married my uncle, Ocie Bacon. Our condolence to her family.

I had the pleasure of being one of Melba Bacon's PE students during my four years at Glendale High School (1964-1968) She, along with Carolyn Wilson, provided a climate of discipline, high expectations and fairness to all. They encouraged us to do our best... even those of us with very little athletic ability. I extend my sympathy to her family.

Ms. Bacon was one of my PE teachers during my time at Glendale High (76-79). She had her limits of what she would tolerate during class, but when you needed a good pep talk she was one the to give it to you. May her family find peace in knowing she's at rest. Prayers to family.

She was my varsity volleyball coach, basketball coach and she was my PE teacher for three of my high school years. 1970-1974. She offered a lot of support and guidance to all of us in high school. May she rest in peace.

Ms. Bacon was one of my PE teachers/coach during my attendance 73-77. She was a knowledgable coach both with physical education and with her wonderful personality. She had her rules, but she had a great sense of humor. I reflect on her when I think of my GHS years. Peace to her family and friends.
