Mercedes Mireles Montiel

Mercedes Mireles Montiel passed away peacefully at home on July 28, 2024, after a short battle with cancer, with her loving family by her side. One of fourteen children, she was born on February 10, 1943, in Kingman, Arizona to the late Alfonso and Tomasa Mireles.

Mercedes and Reymundo Montiel were together for 52 years and married for 33 years.

Mercedes’ memory will forever be held in the hearts of her surviving family: husband Rey, four children David Mireles, Danny Mireles, Debbie Porter & Marcy Montiel, brother Alfonso Mireles Jr., four grandchildren David Mireles, Matthew Mireles, Stephanie Jimenez & Samantha Jimenez and many nieces & nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by son-in-law Jack Porter and 12 siblings Teddy, Carmen, Simon, Carol, Virgie, Millie, Lydia, Charlotte, Arthur, Frankie, Dora & Josie.

Family and friends are invited to a viewing on Sunday, August 11, 2024, from 2-6PM at West Resthaven Funeral Home, 6450 W. Northern Avenue, Glendale with a rosary being recited at 6PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, August 12, 2024 at 10AM at St. Joachim and St. Anne Parish Sun City, 11625 N. 111th Avenue, Sun City. Burial will follow at Resthaven Park Cemetery, 6450 W. Northern Avenue, Glendale.
