Mettie Elrod was born in the small town of Show Low, Arizona on June 16, 1927 and went to heaven on her 91st birthday, June 16, 2018. She had twelve brothers and sisters, and is survived by the youngest sister, Shirley (Adams) Hatch. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. She was a dedicated wife to Mike, who preceded her in death. She cherished him and he cherished her, and it brings us comfort to know that they are now reunited for all of eternity. The foundation she built will live on in the lives of her children De Nelda, Linda (deceased), Patti (Dave) and Jerry (Nancy), grandchildren Mike (deceased), Melinda (Kevin), Rachael (Travis), Kim, Lance (Michelle), Steve (Brooke), and Jason (Lauren), great grandchildren Brandon, Tiffany, Maquel (Austin), Cody, Kaden, Hayley, Sofia, Nathan, Noelle, Estella, Bentley, Luke and Quentin, and great great grandson Jayden. She never met a person she didn’t like and anyone who didn’t adore her. She was very positive and upbeat, never judged others, and was loved by all. She was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many ways throughout her lifetime. Her legacy is one of love and kindness and she will be greatly missed! Her signature goodbye was “A BUSHEL AND A PECK AND A HUG AROUND THE NECK, GOD BLESS YOU!” Mom, Grandma, Great Grandma, and Great Great Grandma, we all love you very much. We’re going to miss you.
