April 26, 1927April 3, 2021

Nobuko (Nobi) Tanita went to be with the Lord Jesus on April 4, 2021, the day before Easter Resurrection Sunday. She was born on April 26, 1927 to Ginnosuke and Masayo Endow in Norwalk, California. She was the 7th of 8 children-Teruko married to Mas Shimatsu, Chieko & Takeo Ota, Minoru & Mabel, Mieko & Hiro Igarashi, Toru and Kazi, Hajime Fred & Kiyoko, Kiyoshi Paul & Sumi. She graduated from Rohwer High School in southeastern Arkansas in 1945, lived in Minnesota with her sister Mieko and returned to California where she met Makoto (Mack) Tanita. They were married on February 12, 1949 and Nobi eventually gained 24 more brothers and sisters as Mack was 3rd of 13 children born to Naomasa and Sui Tanita-Shigeru married to Haruko, Satoshi & Yoshika, Akiko and John Kimura, Tadashi & Eiko, Minoru & Mariko, Wataru & Helen, Tamotsu & Mary, Kiyoshi & Dorothy, Susumu & Masaka, Tsutomu & Yoshie, Toru & Betty, and Mitsugu & Nancy. Many family members joined together to become Tanita Farms.

Mack passed away on July 15, 2006 and they are now survived by their four children: 1) Evelyn(Mark) Diamond, Shirley (Owen) McGeehon: Zeke & Renee (children: Eli, Isaiah), Beth & Nick Randall (children: Merit, Atlas), Timo, Gracie; 3)Susan (Jim) Nomura (Ian, Jordan, Daniel); and 4)Clyde --along with many other loving family and friends.

Nobi was a member of Light and Life Free Methodist Church in Phoenix and Desert's End Church in Tempe. One of Nobi's favorite songs was "Because Jesus Lives"-"God sent His Son, they called Him Jesus; He came to love, heal and forgive; He lived and died to buy my pardon, An empty grave is there to prove my Savior lives! And then one day, I'll cross the river, I'll fight life's final war with pain; And then, as death gives way to victory, I'll see the lights of glory and I'll know He lives! Because He lives, I can face tomorrow, Because He lives, all fear is gone; Because I know He holds the future, And life is worth the living, just because He lives!"

In lieu of flowers you may donate to a charity of your choice. The family plans to have a memorial service at a later time.
