Ola Henderson

O. Pauline Henderson, our beloved Mother and Grandmother, passed from this life into the arms of her Lord, Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. She spent the last 6 days at the Sherman Hospice House in Scottsdale, Arizona, due to effects of dementia.

Pauline was born in Garvin County on November 20, 1923 to James O. Claxton and Myrtle Pettigrew Claxton, (both deceased). She had two brothers, Paul (deceased) and Ralph D. Claxton.

She moved to Buckeye, Arizona in the early 1940’s and met and married Floyd E. Henderson (deceased) in Peoria, Arizona June 25, 1942. Mom was an Airforce wife and followed Dad around the country and to the Philippines during their marriage. She stayed at home and raised three children: Donald W. Henderson, Bobby L. Henderson (deceased) and Debbie S. Henderson (Price).

Mom was talented at sewing, canning, cooking, crocheting, cake decorating, yard work and crafts. She enjoyed hosting dinners for visiting gospel preachers and family. She also arranged many baby and wedding showers for the young couples at church. Mom always made holidays and birthdays special.

Our Mom was a Christian and faithfully attended the Glendale church of Christ for over 40 years. She enjoyed teaching the children’s Bible classes there. She is greatly loved and missed.

Mom is survived by her son, Donald Henderson, daughter, Debbie (Joe) Price, brother, Ralph Claxton (Donna), and special daughter-in-law, Kathy Sullivan. Her Grandchildren: Chris, Barry, Vicki, J.R., Kassondra, Philip (Ashley), Jeremy, Ethan, Alyssa and 5 great-grand children.

Viewing will be Friday, May 27 at 5-8 p.m. at the West Resthaven Funeral Home, 6450 W. Northern Ave., Glendale, AZ. Funeral services will be on Saturday, May 28 at 1:30.
