Oliver Ray Townsend

Oliver was born into a large family; he was the second oldest of nine children. Growing together through all those years in a such a loving family of 6 girls, 3 boys & loving supportive parents. Faith & farming & family certainly formed his fundamental foundations in life that carried him through all his days. According to his high school yearbook his friends described him as a swell, kind, great guy. He had all those qualities and so much more, the fruits of the spirit he embraced and practiced in all areas of his life. He personified patience, love, joy, peace & goodness. He had a passion for fishing, camping, hunting, travel, Nascar, horses and loving the Cowboy way of life. He excelled in every aspect of life be it career or family. Shortly after high school he settled into married life with Diana Belle Poe, together they had 5 children, Jeff, Cindy, Kim, Michelle & Christopher. He along with his brother Lonnie had a successful construction company until he obtained his real-estate license in the 70’s, which was his career path for many decades to follow. The last 45 years of his life were truly blissful with his new wife Carole & his love for her. Those two were inseparable they did everything together hand in hand, side by side until his passing.

Oliver is survived by his loving wife Carole Townsend, his children Cindy, Michelle, Stepchildren Joell & Sean. 9 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, brother Greg & Sisters Teresa, Vivian, Sharon, Renie.

Oliver is preceded in death by, his parents Robert & Sarah (Suddie) Townsend, 3 of his children Jeff, Kim & Christopher & his siblings Lonnie, Wanda & Karen.

Oliver will be deeply missed.

A service will be held on Tuesday June 17, 2025, at 10 am at West Resthaven Funeral Home, 6450 W Northern Ave Glendale AZ 85301.
